Well, it’s that time of the year already. We’re 4 months through year 10 and it’s time for the Christmas holidays!

A great time to take a break from exams and relax with your family, with some Christmas pudding and “Do they know it’s Christmas” in the background.

Everyone here at the AGN wishes you a fantastic Christmas and a happy New Year, and have a safe and festive break.

Alex Stokes, 17, is an AG6 student from Rawtenstall. She has modelled in a number of fashion shows, but has decided her dream career was in the classroom. She got outstanding exam results and plans to study English and French, at York or Liverpool University.

“I did catwalk and photo-shoot modelling. It was really exciting”, Alex said. “However, as far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to become a teacher”.

Theo Bishop, who needs life-changing surgery to help him walk, is closer to his life changing wish thanks to pupils at Alder Grange.

Our charity week, in which pupils had events such as cake stalls, sponsored silences and non-uniform days, raised a total of £860 for Theo’s Big Leap.

Theo was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 14–months-old. This means he is unable to walk without the aid of a special frame.

The week was significant for pupil Tom Hartley, who helped with activities to help his little brother Theo. Thanks to everyone who donated money!
